A new song about peace, written by schoolchildren with the help of a folk musician, debuted yesterday.
Hundreds of children from schools across the district took part in the ‘Big Sing for Peace’ in Centenary Square, Bradford.
The concert rounded off the Routes to Peace season of events, celebrating Bradford’s peace heritage.
Snger-songwriter Roger Davies had worked with students ahead of the show to compose the new song, which was performed.
Also on the bill was Thornton Grammar School’s ‘Better than Glee’ choir.
Routes to Peace is organised by the Peace Museum, Culture Fusion, Bradford Cathedral, the University of Bradford, Bradford Women for Peace and Bradford Council, among others.
Organisers hope the Big Sing for Peace will become an annual event.
