With excitement building as the due date of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s baby approaches we are calling on young readers to get their card designs in to mark the new arrival.

The Telegraph & Argus is offering young people the chance to get arty and create a special card to congratulate the Royal couple on the birth of their first baby, who will be an heir to the throne.

An iPad Mini will be presented to the overall winner and hundreds of pounds of shopping vouchers are up for grabs for age category winners.

Children up to the age of 12 can submit their design for a “Congratulations on your new baby” card, in one of three age groups.

The only design brief is that the card must be fit for a future king or queen.

Rumours surrounding the arrival date and the gender of the baby has been a hot topic in households throughout the country.

Intense speculation suggests the arrival date could be about July 13.

All designs will be considered by a panel of judges and the best entries will appear in the Telegraph & Argus before being put to a public vote.

The winner from each age group will win £100 worth of vouchers to be spent in the Kirkgate Centre, Bradford. The overall winner will scoop a iPad Mini.

Last year, The T&A ran a competition for children to design a card to help celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and hundreds of entries were received.

The latest competition has three age groups – four to six years, seven to nine and ten to 12.

If you would like to enter, draw a colourful design on A4 paper, make sure you’ve filled in the coupon and send both to: New Baby Card Competition, Telegraph & Argus, Hall Ings, Bradford, BD1 1JR.

Write your name on the back but all entries must be accompanied by an entry form with your details on.

Entries can also be handed in at The T&A head office in Bradford.

But be quick. All entries must be received by 5pm on Wednesday, June 12. Unfortunately we cannot return your designs.
