More than 40 people gathered in Bradford city centre today to remember loved ones killed or injured at work.
Workers’ Memorial Day was marked with a minute’s silence at noon and the laying of flowers in the memorial garden at the back of City Hall. Three speakers included Carol Duerden, of Bradford's Workers Health Advice Team, who said: “The desire is to prevent others losing their lives at work.”
Jane Howie, of Bradford Area Safety Reps Association, also spoke. She said: “We come together and mourn the dead on this day. And we re-energise the fight for the living.”
