Albion Sports had a titanic struggle to overcome Division One leaders Eccleshill United in the Bradford & District FA Sunday Senior Cup at Rawdon Meadow.

Ben Hardy and Ben Needham nudged Eccleshill in front after their Premier Division hosts had taken the lead through Asif Hussain.

But a last-gasp equaliser from Carl Hall took the second-round tie into extra-time and, after no further goals, Sports took the honours 5-4 in a penalty shoot-out.

Relay Recruitment knocked out higher-ranked Ring o' Bells Shipley 3-0 after this tie also went to extra-time.

Majid Ali, Robert McDonald and Ashfaq Harwood struck for the Division 1B side as their Division One visitors faded.

Westwood Park, of Division One, gave Queensbury a scare before bowing out 2-1. Park fought all the way but were edged out as Wayne Dayne and Lee Ashforth struck for Premier visitors Queensbury.

Premier outfit Whetley Lane had an easy passage through to round three as they beat Dudley Hill Rangers Reserves of 1B 7-0, with Phil Licence's hat-trick helping set up a mouthwatering tie with Buttershaw White Star.

Division One side Dudley Hill Rangers needed penalties to see off 1B high-fliers Albion Sports Reserves in the third round.

Rangers won the shoot-out 4-1 after a brilliant display of goalkeeping by Aaron Bryan had kept the match scoreless until the end of extra-time.

Ventus Sports of Division One only just edged past 1B visitors White Eagles, with goals from Jas Peltier and Steve Bromley overcoming Ben Neale's reply.

But Premier Division outfit West Bowling had no problems disposing of Division One opponents Wibsey WMC 6-0 as Damian Melville netted four of the goals.

There were plenty of Bradford & District FA Sunday Cup matches as well, with Division 2A leaders Otley Road making light work of Queen Hotel in the second round.

The 3B side were crushed 9-0 as John Selby and Chris Langley struck a hat-trick apiece, with Steve Brandon, Danny Mullarkey and Matty Dempsey completing the rout.

There was a goal every five minutes on average as Thornton of Division 2A eventually accounted for 3B leaders Wrose Albion 12-5 in an eventful game.

Another high-scoring fixture saw Fountain of Division 2A see off 2B visitors Idle United 5-4 on penalties after they finished locked at 4-4 after extra-time.

Division 2B strugglers Beldon Sports ran out 5-1 winners at 3B high-flyers Horse & Farrier as Andy Bolwood's brace was backed up by Dean Mortimer, Martin Lee and Jonathan Hicks.

Division 2B strugglers Woodlands caused a shock in the third round as they edged past 2A visitors Hare & Hounds 5-4. Tim Thornton added to doubles from Aaron Kershaw and Mark Edwards for the underdogs.

Albion Sports C of Division 2A missed two penalties but had just enough in hand to see off 3A opponents Napoleon 3-2 as Latvinder Singh, Scott Redmond and John Kilkenny hit the target.

Division 2B leaders Allerton suffered a 3-2 home defeat to Bolton Woods of Wharfedale.

With most of the leading Bradford Sunday Alliance clubs in cup action, only two Premier Division games were played and AFC Pudsey took full advantage.

They pulled up to within a point of joint leaders Silsden and Albion Sports with a 5-0 victory over Holme Wood Athletic as Ricky Marshall struck twice, supported by Carl Yankovitch, Benjamin Greaves and Paul Speight.

Bradford Park Avenue Rangers were able to pull away from the relegation places with a 7-0 win at rock-bottom Chellow, with Danny Brown bagging a hat-trick.

Division One basement club Crown Wyke held high-flying Buttershaw White Star for an hour but then conceded the only goal of the game to Nathan Ramsden.

Hudsons denied White Horse the chance to go top of Division 1A with a 5-4 away victory as Niel Milner's hat-trick proved decisive. Justin Steele and Kevin Robins completed the Hudsons scoring to outweigh Aaron Williams, Lee Taylor, Richard Burke and an Adam Page penalty.

Wrose Bull had to fight all the way through before seeing off bottom club Quarry 4-3, while Michael Kelsey marked his Oddfellows Athletic debut with the opening goal in a 1-1 draw against George Hotel.

And goals by Firth brothers Danny and Sean could not save Victoria Rangers as they lost 3-2 at home to Greengates Albion.

Jamie Shields scored twice as Tyersal leapfrogged visitors Craven Heifer to take second place in Division 1B with a 5-2 victory.

Aaron Smith, Liam Gallagher and Anthony Busfield were also on target as Tyersal moved up from fourth position.

Queensbridge United edged a tense relegation battle 1-0 to leave hosts Saltaire Rangers at the foot of the table.

Royal Clayton and Wibsey WMC Reserves also had a close match as Steve Warburton's last-minute goal salvaged a 2-2 draw for the clubmen.

Junction moved joint top of Division 2A with a 5-2 win over George & Dragon after falling behind to Mark Consterdine's early strike. Glynn Beale scored twice and claimed three assists to clinch the points.

Gaping Goose also came from behind to earn a 2-1 win at Bradford Ukrainians as they kept in touch.

Craig Gartland opened the scoring but Goose hit back through Daniel Sharky and Bob Thorne.

Wyke Wanderers Reserves eased clear of relegation danger as they won 8-3 at bottom side Bankfoot Lions, who are still without a win from 11 games.

Elsewhere Nicky Brooksbank scored a hat-trick to earn Queensbury B a 3-3 home draw against Druids Allerton.

Buttershaw maintained their pursuit of the Division 2B title with a 4-2 win at home to Nab Wood Juniors, who trailed 4-0 at the interval. Nicky Boshell, Matthew Penn and Chris Durn were among the Buttershaw scorers.

High-flying St Georges suffered a setback as Towngate Athletic, who had been knocked out of two cup competitions in recent weeks, closed the gap at the top with a 5-3 home win. Jamie Sugden and Simon Skelton scored twice apiece for Towngate.

Bolton Woods Socials maintained their advantage at the top of Division 3A with an 8-1 win at George Hotel Reserves, while Bulawayo City Kings edged a ten-goal encounter 6-4 at Quarry FC Reserves.

Black Swan remain two points behind thanks to a 6-0 victory at Dynamo Delius - and Cornwall Youths stay third after winning 4-2 at Delius, who had Jason Linklater and Dan Le Provost on target.

Nathan Coulton and man of the match Sean Jack secured a tense 2-1 verdict for Division 3B leaders Wrose at Sporting.

Salthorn are still looking for an elusive first win after being overwhelmed 12-1 at home to Top House Crusaders, Adrian Woodrow getting the consolation.

And Stocks Lane United remain without a point after losing 4-2 to fellow strugglers Ring o' Bells Shipley Reserves 4-2. A hat-trick by Darren Rands sealed the away side's victory.
