Veteran peace activist Bruce Kent visits Bradford next month as part of a national speaking tour rallying the public to urge the Government to cancel its plans to spend over £100bn on new nuclear weapons.
Mr Kent, who was chairman of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament in the 1980s, and formerly chairman of War On Want, says he wants to make the connection between the Government’s £100bn splurge on new nuclear weapons and the ‘savage cuts’ hitting the poorest hardest.
He will be giving his talk, Time To Scrap Trident, on Wednesday, April 10, at 1.30pm in the John Stanley Bell Lecture Theatre, University of Bradford, as part of the Routes to Peace festival celebrating Bradford’s peace heritage. For tickets, call (01274) 730795
