Two MPs have formed a ‘coalition’ to run this year’s quarter-finals of Rock The House, an event aimed at supporting live music venues and musicians.
Rock the House was set up in 2011 by MPs around the country.
Pudsey MP Stuart Andrew and Leeds North West MP Greg Mulholland, along with promoter Rachel O'Connor, are looking for bands and solo performers to take part in the live round at the White Swan Hotel, Yeadon, on Thursday, March 21. The winners of the Yeadon event will represent their constituency in the next round of the national contest, and will be judged from their music uploaded on Bandapp by luminaries from the music world such as Queen’s Brian May and Rick Wakeman.
There are categories for solo performer, solo performer under-19, bands and bands under-19. New this year is a category for best video. Winners of each category get to play at the House of Commons.
Last year Yeadon musician Marc Otway reached the finals in London, finishing second overall in his category.
