Olympic and Tour de France winning cyclist Bradley Wiggins’ face was on show at a Bingley school.
The cycling supremo’s image adorned one bike spruced up by youngsters at Crossflatts Primary School during a spring-themed ‘Bling your Bike’ event which saw youngsters and parents travelling to school on two wheels.
Bling Your Bike is part of the national Big Pedal competition, a schools cycling initiative by the charity Sustrans encouraging pupils and parents to cycle to school for three weeks and log the miles they clock up.
The school already has cycle shelters and in the spring it is hoped to introduce a cycle track.
Head teacher Hilary Craven said: “For a number of years we have been involving in cycling initiatives with the support of Sustrans and we promote cycling in school as a way of improving health and fitness and also as a sustainable way of travelling.
“We are trying to get behind the Olympic legacy.”
