Legendary boxer Frank Bruno is adding some punch to a Keighley special school's minibus appeal.
The ex-world heavyweight champ will be the star of a fundraising evening at Octagon Live, Sandbeds, this Saturday. He will talk about his life inside and outside the ring. Also on the bill is comedian Lee Roberts and master of ceremonies will be Sky Sports’ Paul Booth.
The extravaganza, which includes a meal and auction, is being organised by MJK Sports Events. It hopes the evening will raise at least £2,500 for Phoenix School’s campaign to buy a specially-adapted vehicle, which will enable pupils in wheelchairs to take part in trips out.
A spokesman for Bingley-based MJK said: “The main tickets are sold out, but there are still some available at £30 for anyone who wants to come along and sit on the mezzanine.”
