An oak tree is to be planted in Heaton Woods later next month in memory of former Lord Mayor of Bradford Stanley King.
Heaton Woods Trust has invited the Earl of Rosse to carry out the planting honours at its annual arboricultural day on Saturday, March 9.
The event is due to start at 11am and members of the public can get into the woods via the Park Drive entrance.
The Lord Mayor of Bradford councillor Dale Smith will also be planting a tree to mark the occasion.
Mr King, who was one of the Trust's founders, died in October after a short illness, aged 80. He had served Bradford Council for almost 40 years as a Conservative for Heaton.
