A 36-year-old man caught stealing from Boots in Bradford city centre to fund his drug addiction has been jailed for 14 days.
Colin Taylor, of no fixed address, was already serving a prison sentence for burglary, Bradford Crown Court heard today.
He elected trial at the Crown Court for shoplifting but then pleaded guilty to stealing three packs of razor blades, valued at £75, on November 1 last year.
He said he wanted the money for food and to buy heroin.
Judge Peter Benson said Taylor had “a very, very lengthy record for minor dishonesty”.
