A man who takes disabled children on pilgrimages to Lourdes is travelling the hard way this year to raise money for the trips.
James Gilmartin, from Shipley, will cycle across the Pyrenees instead of taking his usual flight. The children, from Keighley’s Handicapped Children's Pilgrimage Trust, will travel by plane.
James, a volunteer with the charity, will travel to France a week before the pilgrimage, then ride 540 miles from Paris across the foothills of the Pyrenees. The group flies out on March 30 to Lourdes and will be met by James.
