A Bradford charity which helps disabled people has had a £20,000 funding boost.
Clothing Solutions For Disabled People will receive the money over two years from the Lloyds TSB Foundation for England and Wales. It will go towards the salary for a senior technician and rent, rates and utilities.
The charity provides a clothes-making and alteration service for people with disabilities, allowing them to dress unassisted.
Manager Sandra Hunt said: “The grant will enable us to continue to provide people with physical and learning disabilities an essential bespoke tailoring and clothing alteration service. This service is vital for increasing the independence and dignity of individuals.”
Grant manager for the Lloyds TSB Foundation, Pat Greenwood, said: “The grant awarded to Clothing Solutions will be beneficial in maintaining a much needed service and improving disabled people’s self esteem and confidence.”
