The next time leader of Bradford Council David Green steps into a meeting, he could find himself in a room full of people wearing T-shirts bearing a Twitter hashtag blaming him for everything.
Because yesterday a T-shirt embazoned with his face and #BlameDave went on sale to raise cash for three Bradford charities.
The Telegraph & Argus reported how Coun Green was considering getting the slogan printed on T-shirts and selling them for good causes after a flurry of tweets using the hashtag blaming him for a catalogue of mishaps, from wild weather to missed trains.
But Handmade in Bradford, in the city centre, took it to the next level, creating the T-shirt with a design by Darren Spink.
Yesterday Coun Green visited the shop to buy his T-shirt and one for each member of the Council’s executive. He said: “If it raises money for local good causes than I’m more than happy.”
The T-shirts are on sale at Handmade in Bradford and cost £9, with £5 from each sale going to Inn Churches, Bradford Soup Run and the Lord Mayor of Bradford’s Appeal.
