Police have released these CCTV images of three men they would like to speak to in connection with bike thefts at railway stations across the Bradford district.

Detectives have been investigating after a bike worth more than £1,000 was stolen from from the cycle racks under platform two at Bingley railway station by two men, who had boarded the train in Saltaire.

One of the men is seen to leave the station through the front entrance on the bike while the other leaves from the rear.

In a separate incident two men are seen on camera stealing two bikes from the cycle racks at Bradford Forster Square railway station.

One of the men arrived on a bike, which he abandoned at the rack before riding off on one that he stole.

BTP Police Constable David Bentley said: “If you know any of the men pictured, or have been recently offered a bike in suspicious circumstances, we’d like to hear from you.

“Regrettably, the theft of cycles appears to be on the increase and rail stations are often a target due to the number of bikes being left by passengers for long periods of time, but this is an emerging issue which is affecting everyone.

“BTP is cracking down on this type of crime and wants to send a strong message out to thieves that we have a dedicated team of officers dedicated to tackling this type of crime. We are carrying out plain clothes and high profile operations to catch thieves in the act. Thieves should also be aware most cycle racks are covered by CCTV so it’s only a matter of time before we track them down.

“We are also working closely with cycle and second-hand shops and are monitoring online sites to make it more difficult for thieves to sell on stolen property.”

The Bingley incident took place at 2.40pm on Monday, October 8, while the incident at Forster Square occurred at 3.10pm on Monday, July 30.

Anyone with information, or who recognises any of the men pictured, has been asked to contact BTP on Freefone 0800 40 50 40 quoting background log NEA 3 of November 2, 2012, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
