BRADFORD’S Spotlight Stage School is celebrating 25 years of dance and performance with a dazzling show.

The Allerton-based school, which was established in 1993 by Gill Robinson, a former Alhambra panto Sunbeam and professional dancer, has gone from strength to strength, with many students going on to train, teach and perform professionally.

The 25th anniversary celebration show includes music from The Greatest Showman as well as popular musicals Cats and Frozen and involves 80 youngsters aged between three and 18.

Principal Gill Robinson said: “I am so very proud of everything we have achieved over the last 25 years and all our students have worked extremely hard on what promises to be a great evening of entertainment.”

* The show runs at Bingley Arts Centre tonight and tomorrow at 7.15pm, with a Saturday matinee at 2.15pm.

* Tickets are available on 07803176593 or on the door.

THE KVU Singers are teaming up with leading bass-baritone singer Sir John Tomlinson for a special concert on Sunday.

The long-established Sutton-based choir will be at Colne's’s Municipal Theatre on Sunday.

Sir John Tomlinson has performed for audiences around the world for more than 40 years. He has sung at the world’s leading opera houses, including regular appearances with the Royal Opera and the English National Opera.

In 2014 he was awarded the Royal Philharmonic Society Gold Medal, joining the illustrious company of Brahms, Delius, Elgar and Placido Domingo.

The KVU Singers will be celebrating their retired musical director Frank Smith - a member of the choir for 60 years - with two performances featuring soloists of his choice.

Sir John and the choir will be joined on the Colne stage by up-and-coming local mezzo-soprano, Samantha Oxborough.

KVU Singers began life as Keighley Vocal Union in 1906 and continued through the First and Second World Wars.
