One of the most popular pieces of classical music will be celebrated in Bradford this autumn, in the Four Seasons By Candlelight concert.
Described as “a sumptuous evening of entertainment”, it sees the Mozart Festival Orchestra performing Vivaldi’s most revered work in full period costume in an evocative candlelit setting.
Several centuries after Antonio Vivaldi died a pauper, The Four Seasons (Le Quattro Stagione) has become a worldwide hit, and this concert allows classical music fans of all ages to experience it in an environment that re-creates what it would have been like when the piece was performed for the first time.
Taking a journey back to the 18th century, the audience will also be treated to further ‘hits’ from the period, including Handel’s Arrival Of The Queen Of Sheba.
The Four Seasons By Candlelight is at St George’s Hall on Wednesday, November 24, at 7.30pm. For tickets, ring (01274) 432000.
