MEMBERS of Bradford Festival Choral Society will sing Beethoven’s Choral Symphony in Saltaire.
The choir will be performing Beethoven’s ninth Symphony along with other well known Beethoven compositions, Calm Sea and Prosperous Voyage and the Overture Leonora with Leeds Symphony Orchestra and four excellent soloists.
This will take place at Victoria Hall on Saturday, May 9, from 7.30pm.
Tom Leech, the choir’s musical director, said: “Ode to Joy, the final movement of Beethoven’s Ninth, is well known as the anthem of the European Community and is often heard at major events like the Olympics.
“It is a fast and furious piece of music and a great challenge for choirs."
“It is performed rarely in Bradford and I hope that lots of people will come and hear it.”
