Disney On Ice celebrates 100 Years of Magic
First Direct Arena, Leeds
DISNEY magic had certainly been sprinkled on the First Direct Arena last night, as Feld Entertainment presented the sensational Disney Skating
Spectacular, celebrating 100 years of magic.
Gracing the ice with all the flair and talent you would expect from a Disney production, the show featured well over 50 beloved Disney characters, from a host of films spanning over several decades, from Pinocchio to Mulan, through to Toy Story and Aladdin.
Singalong masterpieces were fused with stunning skating choreography, detailed set pieces, props and effects, to bring to life exerts from many
fan favourites.
Highlights of the show included a near full re-telling of the hit Frozen, where we joined Anna, Elsa, Sven and Olaf performing under flurries of snow that fluttered from the ceiling. There wasn't a single person who didn't burst into song as soon as Elsa broke into Let it Go.
Other huge reactions went to the Lion King, and also Beauty and the Beast. Having never seen a Disney on Ice show before, I left the arena feeling stunned by the visual effects and skating talent that bought this spectacular to life.
Needless to say, Disney on Ice is an absolute must for any Disney fan, young or old.
Runs until Sunday.
