A MENTAL health group which runs sessions in the Bradford district has revealed the part it has played in a TV soap opera’s storyline.

Andy’s Man Club Bradford posted about Emmerdale's current storyline around one of its male character’s mental health.

Paddy Kirk, played by Dominic Brunt, has experienced fragile mental health in recent episodes, which culminated in him trying to take his own life.

Now Paddy and his friend Marlon Dingle, played by Mark Charnock, will feature in Emmerdale’s first male-only cast episode when they meet to chat during a lock-in at the soap village’s pub, The Woolpack.

The special episode will be broadcast on ITV on Friday, March 10 from 7.30pm.

In a Facebook post, Andy’s Man Club Bradford revealed the national organisation played a part in the soap’s storyline.

Andy’s Man Club Bradford wrote: “This episode was inspired by the stories shared by Andy's Man Club and will hopefully get someone watching to either go to one of our 118 Andy's Man Club’s nationwide or get their friend, partner, dad, uncle or son to attend our weekly session.”

Andy’s Man Club meetings are held every Monday from 7pm at a host of venues across the UK.

The group’s Bradford Central sessions take place at Bradford City’s Valley Parade ground from 7pm.
