A COMMUNITY learning centre has been turned into a creative hub in the heart of Manningham.

Women who enrolled on a creative craft course at the Meridian Centre in St Paul’s Road have passed with flying colours.

The upcycling course was just one of a number of learning opportunities on offer at the centre as part of its adult education programme, teaching people from the neighbourhood new skills and helping them get back to work.

Centre manager Nadia Khan said the women’s creativity deserved to be celebrated.

“I’ve been so impressed with their work I wanted to share it. It’s amazing what ideas they’ve come up with. One of my favourite was a tyre turned into a leg resting pouffe,” she said.

Ms Khan added the courses were open to both men and women in the community, anyone who want to increase their skills and have a go at learning to improve themselves and their lives.
