ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 -SECTION 14 THE A64 TRUNK ROAD (ASKHAM BRYAN INTERCHANGE) [TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited has made an Order on the A64 Trunk Road, in the County of North Yorkshire, to enable lighting and general maintenance works to be carried out in safety. The works are now expected to start on Monday 29 November 2021 for 4 weeks or until completed.
The effect of the Order will be, between 8pm and 6am, at times during the works, to close the:
(i) A64 eastbound carriageway from exit slip road at to the entry slip road at Askham Bryan Interchange, a distance of 418 metres;
(ii) A64 westbound carriageway from the exit slip road to the entry slip road at Askham Bryan Interchange, a distance of 2362 metres;
(iii) A64 eastbound and westbound entry and exit slip roads at Askham Bryan Interchange; and
(iv) A64 westbound entry slip road at Askham Bar Interchange.
It will be necessary to ban vehicles from entering or leaving the A64 at its junction with Manor Heath.
During the closures suitably signed alternative routes will be available at all times. Traffic management will be in force and traffic signs will indicate the extent of the prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works, to anyone engaged in the said works or for winter maintenance). The Order comes into force on 28 November 2021 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
