THE M62 MOTORWAY AND THE M606 MOTORWAY
(CHAIN BAR INTERCHANGE) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited intends to make an Order on the M62 Motorway and the M606 Motorway, in the District of Kirklees, to enable replacement bridge structure surface deck thermal expansion joint, carriageway resurfacing wearing course, white lining and studs works to be carried out in safety. The works are expected to start at 8pm on Monday 15 November 2021 for 3 weeks or until completed, and will take place overnight between 8pm and 6am. The effect of the Order will be, at times during the works, to close the:
(i) M62 eastbound carriageway from its diverge with the M606 at Chain Bar Interchange (M62 Junction 26 and M606 Junction 1) to the entry slip road at Chain Bar Interchange, a distance of 1560 metres;

(ii) M62 westbound carriageway from the exit slip road at Chain Bar Interchange to its merge with the M606 at Chain Bar Interchange, a distance of 1560 metres; and

(iii) M606 northbound carriageway from its diverge with the M62 eastbound carriageway at Chain Bar Interchange to the entry slip road at Chain Bar Interchange, a distance of 1200 metres;

The works will also require lane closures, during which times the hard shoulder will be used for traffic adjacent to the above lengths of carriageway as described in (i) and (ii). During the closures suitably signed alternative routes will be available at all times. Traffic signs will indicate the extent of the restrictions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or special forces vehicles) and prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance or traffic officer purposes). The Order comes into force on 14 November 2021 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
