THE M62 AND THE M606 MOTORWAY [STAYGATE INTERCHANGE TO EUROWAY INTERCHANGE) [TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an order on the M62 and M606 Motorway, in the County of West Yorkshire, to enable road stud renewal and routine and routine maintenance works to be carried out in safety. The works are expected to start on Thursday 17 December 2020 and will take place Monday to Friday between 8pm and 6am and between the same times over subsequent weeks until completed.
that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an order on the M62 and M606 Motorway, in the County of West Yorkshire, to enable road stud renewal and routine and routine maintenance works to be carried out in safety. The works are expected to start on Thursday 17 December 2020 and will take place Monday to Friday between 8pm and 6am and between the same times over subsequent weeks until completed.
The effect of the Order will be, at times during the works, to impose a temporary:
(i) 50mph speed restriction on M606 northbound and southbound carriageway from 15 metres north of Chainbar Interchange West Bridge to 115 metres north of Staygate Interchange North Bridge, a distance of 3900 metres;

(ii) 50mph speed restriction on the M62 eastbound carriageway from 585 metres west of Whitechapel Road Bridge to 15 metres from Chainbar Interchange South Bridge, a distance of 1460 metres;

(iii) 50mph speed restriction on the link road connecting the M62 eastbound carriageway with the M606 northbound carriageway at Chain Bar Interchange;

(iv) 50mph speed restriction on the M606 northbound entry slip road at Chain Bar Interchange;

(v) 50mph speed restriction on the M606 northbound exit slip road at Euroway Interchange;

(vi) 50mph speed restriction on the M606 northbound exit slip road at Staygate Interchange;

(vii) 50mph speed restriction on the M606 southbound entry slip road at Staygate Interchange;

(viii) 50mph speed restriction on the M606 southbound exit slip road at Euroway Interchange; and

(ix) 50mph speed restriction on the M606 southbound entry slip road at Euroway Interchange.

It will also be necessary, at times during the works to:
(x) close the M606 southbound carriageway from 130 metres north of Staygate Interchange North Bridge to 15 metres north of Chain Bar Interchange West Bridge, a distance of 3900 metres;

(xi) close the M606 southbound carriageway from 15 metres north of Chain Bar Interchange North Bridge to 130 metres north of Staygate Interchange North Bridge, a distance of 3900 metres;

(xii) close the M606 southbound carriageway from 285 north of Euroway Bridge to 15 metres north of Chainbar Interchange West;

(xiii) close the slip roads mentioned in (iv), (v), (vi), (vii), (viii), (ix) and (x);

(xiv) close the M606 southbound carriageway exit slip road at Chain Bar Interchange; and

(xv) close the link road connecting the M606 southbound carriageway with the M62 westbound carriageway at Chain Bar Interchange.

During the carriageway, slip road and junction closures, suitably signed alternative routes will be available at all times. Traffic signs will indicate the extent of the restrictions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or special forces vehicles) and prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance or traffic officer purposes). Access will be maintained at all times to premises and properties which are accessible from, and only from, the M62. The Order comes into force on 16 December 2020 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
