ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14 THE A64 TRUNK ROAD (WEST KNAPTON TO GANTON) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14 THE A64 TRUNK ROAD (WEST KNAPTON TO GANTON) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited has made an Order on the A64 Trunk Road, in the County of North Yorkshire, to enable traffic signals, drainage, carriageway, paving and general maintenance works to be carried out in safety. The works are expected to start at 00:01 hours on Sunday 1 March for 8 weeks, or until completed.
The effect of the Order will be, at times during the works, to:
(i) impose a temporary 40mph, 30mph and at times 10mph speed restriction on the A64 from its Junction with B1258 Malton Road to 1000 metres east of Woodside Road Junction, a distance of 10800 metres. The 10mph limit will only apply when, for safety reasons, traffic has to be escorted through the works by a highway maintenance vehicle;

(ii) close all laybys adjacent to the A64 eastbound and westbound carriageways as mentioned above in (i);

(iii) ban vehicles from entering or leaving the A64 eastbound and westbound carriageways as mentioned above in (i);

(iv) close A64 eastbound and westbound carriageways as mentioned above in (i); and

(v) close A64 eastbound carriageway between the exit and entry slip roads at A169 Pickering Interchange.

During the closures suitably signed alternative routes will be available at all times.
Access will be maintained at all times to premises and property which are accessible from, and only from, the A64. The Order comes into force on 29 February 2020 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
THE A64 TRUNK ROAD (BARTON HILL TO OLD MALTON) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited has made an Order on the A64 Trunk Road, in the County of North Yorkshire, to enable kerbing realignment, carriageway construction and resurfacing, footway construction, sign works, road markings and studs and general maintenance works to be carried out in safety. The works are expected to start on Monday 2 March for 16 weeks, or until completed.
The effect of the order will be, at times during the works, between 8pm and 6am, to close the A64:
(i) eastbound carriageway from its junction with Slingsby Hovington at Barton Hill to the entry slip road at Old Malton Junction, a distance

of 13539 metres;
(ii) westbound carriageway from the exit slip road at Old Malton Junction to its junction with Slingsby Hovington at Barton Hill, a distance of 13609 metres;

(iii) eastbound carriageway from the exit slip road at Grimston Bar Interchange to the entry slip road at Grimston Bar Interchange, a distance of 900 metres;

(iv) westbound carriageway from the exit slip road at Grimston bar Interchange to the entry slip road at Grimston Bar Interchange, a distance of 930 metres;

(v) Hopgrove Roundabout;

(vi) eastbound exit and westbound entry slip roads at Musley Bank Junction; and

(vii) eastbound exit and westbound entry slip roads at Old Malton Junction;

During the closures suitably signed alternative routes will be available at all times.
It will be necessary, for 24 hours a day, at times during the works, to:
(viii) impose a temporary 50mph, 40mph and at times 10mph speed restriction on the A64 eastbound and westbound carriageways from Slingsby Hovington at Barton Hill to its merge with the dual carriageway approximately 374 metres east of the unnamed road leading to Low Hutton, a distance of 8354 metres. The 10mph limit will only apply when, for safety reasons, traffic has to be escorted through the works by a highway maintenance vehicle;

(ix) impose an overtaking ban on the A64 eastbound carriageway from 140 metres west of Greets House Road Junction eastwards for a distance of 1000 metres

(x) close all laybys adjacent to the above lengths of carriageway as mentioned in (i) and (ii);

(xi) ban vehicles from entering or leaving the above lengths of carriageway as mentioned in (i) and (ii); and

(xii) close the gaps in the central reservation adjacent to the above lengths of carriageway as mentioned in (i) and (ii).

Access will be maintained at all times to premises and property which are accessible from, and only from, the A64. The Order comes into force on 1 March 2020 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months. Traffic management will be in force 24 hours a day and traffic signs will indicate the extent of the restrictions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or special forces vehicles) and prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance or traffic officer purposes).
