THE A66 TRUNK ROAD (YARM ROAD INTERCHANGE)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited has made an order on the A66 Trunk Road, in the Borough of Stockton-on-Tees, to enable off-carriageway cycle route, signing and lining improvement works to be carried out in safety. The works are expected to start on 16 February 2020 for 6 weeks, or until completed. The effect of the Order will be, between 8pm and 6am, at times during the works, to:
(i) impose a temporary 50mph speed restriction on the A66 eastbound carriageway from 1380 metres west of the exit slip road at Yarm Road Interchange eastwards for a distance of 1620 metres;

(ii) impose a temporary 50mph speed restriction on the A66 westbound carriageways from 121 metres west of the exit slip road at Yarm Road Interchange westwards for a distance of 950 metres;

(iii) impose a temporary 30mph speed restriction on the A66 eastbound carriageway from 1380 metres west of the exit slip road at Yarm Road Interchange eastwards for a distance of 2410 metres;

(iv) impose a temporary 30mph speed restriction on the A66 westbound carriageway from 795 metres east of the exit slip road at Yarm Road Interchange westwards for a distance of 1845 metres;

(v) impose a temporary 50mph and at times a 30mph speed restriction on the A66 eastbound exit and westbound entry slip roads at Yarm Road Interchange;

(vi) impose a temporary 30mph speed restriction on the A66 eastbound entry and westbound exit slip roads at Yarm Road Interchange; and

(vii) close the A66 eastbound and westbound exit and entry slip roads at Yarm Road Interchange.

During the slip road closures, suitably signed alternative routes will be available at all times. It will also be necessary, for 24 hours a day, at times during the works, to close the laybys adjacent to the A66:
(i) westbound carriageway approximately 640 metres east of the exit slip road at Yarm Road Interchange;

(ii) eastbound carriageway approximately 1300 metres west of the exit slip road at Yarm Road Interchange; and

(iii) eastbound carriageway approximately 490 metres east of the entry slip road at Yarm Road Interchange.

Traffic management will be in force 24 hours a day and traffic signs will indicate the extent of the restrictions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or special forces vehicles) and prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works, or for winter maintenance or traffic officer purposes).
