THE A66 TRUNK ROAD (LINGFIELD POINT ROUNDABOUT TO LITTLE BURDON ROUNDABOUT) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the A66 Trunk Road, in the District of Darlington, to enable carriageway widening, resurfacing, lighting installation, drainage, fencing, traffic signs and road markings works to be carried out in safety. The works are expected to start at 7.30pm on Sunday 23 February 2020 for 14 weeks, or until completed.
The effect of the Order will be, for 24 hours a day, at times during the works, to;
(i) impose a temporary 30mph speed restriction on the A66 eastbound carriageway from Lingfield Point Roundabout to Little Burdon Roundabout, a distance of 1126 metres;

(ii) close the above mentioned (i);

(iii) close the link road connecting the B6279 eastbound local road with the A66 eastbound carriageway at Lingfield Point Roundabout; and

(iv) ban traffic from entering or leaving (ii) and (iii). It will also be necessary to close between 7.30pm and 6am the link road connecting the A66 westbound carriageways at Little Burdon Roundabout.

During the closures suitably signed alternative routes will be available at all times. Traffic signs will indicate the extent of the restrictions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or special forces vehicles) and prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance or traffic officer purposes). Access will be maintained at all times to premises and properties which are accessible from, and only from, the A66.
