ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 -SECTION 14
THE A1(M) MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 59 TO JUNCTION 60)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) NOTICE IS Hereby GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited has made an Order on the A1(M) Motorway, in County Durham, to enable carriageway resurfacing, road marking and road stud renewal works to be carried out in safety.
that Highways England Company Limited has made an Order on the A1(M) Motorway, in County Durham, to enable carriageway resurfacing, road marking and road stud renewal works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start on Monday 27 January 2020 for 6 nights, or until completed, and will take place between 8pm and 6am. The effect of the Order will be to close, at times during the works, the A1(M) Motorway:
(i) northbound carriageway from the exit slip road at Junction 59 (Aycliffe Interchange) to the entry slip road at Junction 60 (Bradbury Interchange), a distance of 9200 metres;
(ii) southbound carriageway from the exit slip road at Junction 60 to the entry slip road at Junction 59, a distance of 9300 metres;
(iii) northbound entry and southbound exit slip roads at Junction 59; and
(iv) southbound entry and northbound exit slip roads at Junction 60.
During the closures suitably signed alternative routes will be available at all times. Traffic signs will indicate the extent of the prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance or traffic officer purposes).
