ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 -SECTION 14 THE A66 TRUNK ROAD (NEASHAM ROAD ROUNDABOUT) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 -SECTION 14 THE A66 TRUNK ROAD (NEASHAM ROAD ROUNDABOUT) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited has made an Order on the A66 Trunk Road, in the District of Darlington, to enable resurfacing and road marking works to be carried out in safety. The works are expected to start on Monday 9 December 2019 for 2 nights or until completed, and will take place between 8pm and 6am. The effect of the Order will be, at times during the works, to:
(i) impose a temporary 40mph speed restriction on the A66 from 800 metres west of Neasham Road Roundabout to 800 metres east of Neasham Road Roundabout, a distance of 1600 metres;

(ii) impose a temporary 40mph speed restriction of the A66 Neasham Road Roundabout;

(iii) close the south western quadrant of the A66 Neasham Road Roundabout between the southern exit and western entry points, a distance of 65 metres; and

(iv) close the laybys adjacent to the above length of carriageway as described in (i).

Traffic signs will indicate the extent of the restrictions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or special forces vehicles) and prohibition (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles, vehicles being used in connection with the said works or winter maintenance purposes). The Order comes into force on 8 December 2019 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
