ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14 THE A64 TRUNK ROAD (HOPGRPVE ROUNDABOUT TO GRIMSTON BAR INTERCHANGE) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an order on the A64 Trunk Road, in the Cities of Leeds and York and in the Districts of Selby and Ryedale, to enable road stud replacement works to be carried out in safety. The works are expected to start on 25 November 2019 for 4 weeks, or until completed. The effect of the Order will be, between 8pm and 6am, at times during the works, to:
(i) impose a temporary 50mph speed restriction on the A64 eastbound carriageway from 1250 metres east of the entry slip road at the A162 Cockbridge Junction to 1850 metres east of the entry slip road at the A659 Tadcaster East Junction, a distance of 3300 metres;

(ii) close the A64 westbound carriageways from its junction with Hopgrove Roundabout to the entry slip road at Grimston Bar Interchange, a distance of

3600 metres;
(iii) close the A64 eastbound exit and westbound exit slip roads at Bond Hill Interchange;

(iv) close the A64 westbound entry slip road at Pickering Interchange; and

(v) close the A64 eastbound entry and westbound entry slip roads at Grimston Bar Interchange;

During the carriageway and roundabout closures, suitably signed alternative routes will be available at all times. It will also be necessary, for 24 hours a day, at times during the works, to close the laybys adjacent to the A64:
(i) westbound carriageway approximately 320 metres west of Stockton Lane overbridge; and

(ii) westbound carriageway approximately 240 metres west of Bad Bargain Lane overbridge.

Traffic management will be in force 24 hours a day and traffic signs will indicate the extent of the restrictions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or special forces vehicles) and prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works, or for winter maintenance or traffic officer purposes). The Order comes into force on 24 November 2019 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
