ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984-SECTION 14 THE A64 TRUNK ROAD (HEADLEY BAR INTERCHANGE TO HOPGROVE ROUNDABOUT) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited has made an Order on the A64 Trunk Road, in the County of North Yorkshire and West Yorkshire, to enable carriageway resurfacing, road marking, stud replacement, kerbing, general maintenance and associated works to be carried out in safety. The works are expected to start on Monday 19 August 2019 for 7 weeks or until completed. The effect of the Order will be, between 8pm and 6am, at times during the works, to close the:

(i) A64 eastbound carriageway from Bramham Roundabout to the unnamed road leading to Askham Richard, a distance of 140003 metres;



(ii) A64 westbound carriageway from the westbound exit slip road at Askham Bryan to its junction with Slice Lane, a distance of 6168 metres;



(iii) A64 eastbound and westbound carriageway from the centreline of its junction with Towthorpe Moor Lane to its junction with Hopgrove Roundabout, a distance of 3409 metres;



(iv) A64 eastbound carriageway from a point 287 metres west of its junction with Hopgrove Roundabout, eastwards, for a distance of 287 metres;



(v) link road connecting the A1(M) Motorway northbound carriageway with the A64 eastbound carriageway at Junction 44 (Bramham Crossroads);



(vi) link road connecting the A64 eastbound carriageway to the A1237 westbound carriageway at Hopgrove Roundabout;



(vii) A64 eastbound exit and westbound entry slip roads at Hedley Bar Interchange;



(viii) A64 eastbound entry slip road at Cock Bridge;



(ix) A64 eastbound entry slip road at Tadcaster Bar;



(x) A64 eastbound and westbound entry and exit slip road at Bilbrough Interchange



(xi) bus stop areas situated to the carriageway mentioned in (i) and (ii); and



(xii) bus stop situated adjacent to the westbound entry slip road at Hedley Bar Interchange.



It will be necessary to ban vehicles from entering or leaving the A64 at its junction with Catterton Lane, The Old Street, North Lane, Ellerburn Lodge Drive, Barr Lane and the unnamed road leading to Chantry Lane. It will also be necessary to close for 24 hours a day, at times during the works, the laybys situated adjacent to the carriageway mentioned in (i), (ii), (iii) and (iv).

During the closures suitably signed alternative routes will be available at all times. Traffic management will be in force 24 hours a day and traffic signs will indicate the extent of the prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works, to anyone engaged in the said works or for winter maintenance). The Order comes into force on 18 August 2019 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
