METTAS Andris (Andy) June 16, passed away peacefully in hospital, aged 77 years. Andris close family friend of the Burkevics family, also a devoted teacher and friend to many. Due to current restrictions a private funeral service will be held at Nab Wood Crematorium.

I am so sorry that I wasn't able to renew my acquaintance with Andris in recent years (I did try). We were close friends at Carlton Street Primary School, from when he first arrived as a refugee. I remember how he used to stare at the ceiling for inspiration, when asked a question by the teacher. Rest in Peace, Andy.
