EMERGENCY services rushed to a Bradford street where a man was trapped under a digger.

The incident occurred on Watty Hall Road in Wibsey just before 9am on Saturday morning.

Firefighters extricated the man and handed him over to ambulance staff.

The man was taken to hospital where he is being treated for non-life-threatening leg injuries.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Emergency services were called to Watty Hall Road, Bradford, at 8.50am today to a report a man had received leg injuries after becoming trapped under a digger.

"The man was taken to hospital for treatment to the injury which is not life-threatening."

A spokesperson for the West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service said: "We were called at 8.45am to Watty Hall Road to assist ambulance colleagues with freeing a trapped person.

"We sent two crews, plus technical rescue, and technical rescue support.

"We extricated the casualty and handed them over to ambulance staff before leaving."
