A Bradford teenager will be dancing on ice this week when he competes in a national competition.
Harry Mattick, 15, of Wibsey, will take part in the British Ice Skating Championships tomorrow and Thursday.
He said only three other skaters qualified to compete in the championships at the Nottingham Ice Arena.
He said: “It’s just the four of us doing it so chances are I’ll walk away with a medal but it’s all about what happens on the day.”
Coach Sue Hughes (pictured right with Harry) trains Harry at Bradford Ice Arena.
She said he has a training regime of eight sessions a week and has been preparing for the competition for 18 months.
She said: “He was really chuffed to qualify. He has worked really hard and even sacrificed his Christmas break. We have really high hopes for him.”
