Angelina Jolie is heading to Haiti to meet with earthquake victims.

The UN refugee agency goodwill ambassador - who met quake survivors in the neighbouring Dominican Republic yesterday (February 8) - will travel to Haiti later today, a UN High Commissioner for Refugees spokesman said.

He provided no details of her planned itinerary for security reasons.

Angelina has previously visited Iraq, Thailand, Pakistan and other countries with UNHCR.

After her visit to the Dominican Republic, a spokesman for the Dario Contrera Hospital in the capital of Santo Domingo said Angelina spoke with several patients who are receiving medical attention following the January 12 quake.

He told reporters: "She spoke with several children and a Haitian woman who recognised her and requested help."

The actress was accompanied by a representative of the UNHCR and the son of Peruvian writer Mario Vargas Llosa.
