Oddfellows’ war dead honoured

Following our recent piece on the stained glass firm Lazenby’s, we have had a communication from Janet Booth, the provincial corresponding secretary of the Bradford District Lodge of the Oddfellows, who celebrate their 200th anniversary this year.

She writes about the window featured in our piece inscribed with the words "The brethren of Bradford District Manchester Unity who gave their lives in the Great War 1914 to 1918”.

She writes: “This is in fact a window from the Oddfellows and not the Masons. The building on Northgate was originally a Masons building, but was owned by the Oddfellows, Bradford District, and used as a lodge room from at least 1900 until 1975, when we sold the building and moved to our current premises at Carlton House, 46 Little Horton Lane, Bradford, in 1975.
