DENNIS GIBSON-REE, of Crossflatts, writes in response to a feature on waterwheels in a Remember When? from May: “Being a baker by trade, windmills and waterwheels seem to give me an interest. Maybe it’s the flour harvest connection, I don’t know.

“I would like to see some information on our local watermill at Holroyd Mill in Micklethwaite village.

“I have lived around here for more than 20 years, and seen inside it maybe twice when our local school caretaker Mr Miller (now passed away) held discos in a barn there. When was it built? How long did it work for and when in the past did it come to a standstill?”
