Bill Maskew, of Shipley, responds to a reader’s call for information on Brown, Muff’s department store: “My own near 23-year association with BMs is just a drop in the bucket, but by virtue of duties on the staff council and a long spell on our social committee, I was able to go to every building we used, every department.
“I wasn’t everybody’s friend – pestering for blood donors, or entries into our slide competitions, etc, but it helped, I think, to knit the firm together.
“It was a privilege I enjoyed, and I hope my old pal Jeff Darnbrook sees this and is not too busy to pitch in with his memories.”
