25 years ago: Owen Hill, a 59 year-old man, of Bierley, who had been deaf for four years, said he could hear his grandchildren's voices for the first time following a revolutionary "bionic ear" operation performed at Bradford Royal Infirmary, one of only a handful carried out in Britain to date.
50 years ago: Police were investigating after a thief snatched £88,16s from an 18 year-old typist as she was paying the money in on behalf of a Bradford accountancy firm at Martin's Bank in Tyrrel Street, Bradford.
