25 years ago: Latest figures revealed the number of drivers killed and injured on Bradford's roads had increased by more than a third, with five deaths and 737 injuries during 1989 representing a 34 per rise on the average for the previous five years, labelled a "worrying trend" by road safety officials.
50 years ago: The driver of a Bradford trolley bus got a shock when a fully-grown goose flew into his vehicle and shattered the cab, forcing him to perform an emergency stop with a full load of passengers on Thornton Road.
