25 years ago: Bradford's Chamber of Commerce urged the city's business leaders and MPs to try and persuade Government officials to agree to a £50million scheme to get the district back on British Rail's electrified network, after it emerged the West Yorkshire Passenger Transport Authority just six weeks left to secure the deal.
50 years ago: More than 250 men, women, and children packed into Allerton Congregation Schoolroom to say an emotional goodbye to Dr William Cunningham, who was presented with a cheque and gold watch after serving the village for 40 years.
