25 years ago: Plans for an 88-bedroom hotel on the historic St Ives Estate in Bingley were "cautiously welcomed" by the St Ives Action Group and Bingley Civic Trust, which had both bitterly opposed previous proposals by Bradford Council to sell off the land.

50 years ago: Two partially-built bungalows at Thornacre Road in Wrose, Shipley, had to be demolished after developers found they were too close to power cables carrying 132,000 volts, leaving the firm behind the project - Raybrook Estates in Guiseley - £1,000 out of pocket.
