25 years ago: The pioneering burns research unit at Bradford University - set up through public donations in memory of victims of the Bradford City fire disaster - was said to be facing closure due to a "cash crisis", plastic surgeon Paul Sharpe warned.
50 years ago: Tom Fraser, the Minister for Transport, confirmed he had agreed to end rail stopping services between Bradford and Huddersfield on the Mirfield and Halifax routes, leading to potential station closures at Low Moor, Cleckheaton, Liversedge, Heckmondwike, Northorpe, and Lightcliffe.
