25 years ago: Police in Bradford were hunting a pair of armed raiders who used an iron bar to attack a shopkeeper in Bolton Woods and threaten her eight year-old son, as she bravely tried to fend them off with his plastic cricket bat.
50 years ago: Bradford Council's Housing Committee recommended a rent increase on the district's 23,000 council houses, with the reported 20 per cent increase in income over two years designed to wipe out an estimated deficit of nearly £400,000.
