25 years ago: Urban naturalists from the Bradford Wildlife Group appealed for help in completing a new survey listing all species of flora and fauna in 198 areas of disused land across the district, in a bid to persuade Bradford Council to classify the derelict sites as places of ecological interest.
50 years ago: A 22 year-old student from the Bradford Institute of Technology died after a 20ft fall on the 9,387ft Aigulle des Petits-Charmoz in the Mont Blanc range in France during a trip with the student union's mountaineering club.
