25 years ago: The National Museum of Photography, Film and Television in Bradford announced it was to go seven days a week and open on Mondays for the first time, with three Imax films shown every Monday in July and August during the school summer holidays.

50 years ago: Dr R.W. Elliott, one of the health chiefs for Bradford and the West Riding district, said it was "high time the water authorities got cracking" to add fluoride to public water supplies, a move he claimed would reduce oral health problems in children by at least 50 per cent.
