Telegraph & Argus, Saturday, October 30, 1971:
The Prime Minister Mr. Edward Heath, had been greeted by chanting students and two eggs, which missed as he arrived at Bradford University, where an honorary degree was to be conferred on him by Mr. Harold Wilson. Inside the University about 50 students were sitting in, registering their disapproval of both the degree and Mr. Heath’s presence. Kept at bay by detectives, Special Branch men, and the University’s own security staff all doors had been locked leading to the area where the Prime Minister would be. Demonstrators also continued their protests towards unemployment by marching through the centre of Bradford.
