Simon Grayson has been appointed the new manager of Leeds.

The 39-year-old has left Blackpool for Elland Road to replace Gary McAllister, who was sacked on Sunday after 11 months at the helm.

Grayson, who lives near Skipton, is a lifelong Leeds fan and began his 17-year playing career with the club, making two senior appearances.

He also had a brief spell on loan with Bradford City under Nicky Law.

Grayson took charge of Blackpool in 2006 and steered them to promotion through the League One play-offs.

Grayson's first game in charge will be at home to League One leaders Leicester, another of his former clubs, on Boxing Day.

Enough is enough Simon. Stop reporting on Beeston Utd and get some incisive reporting on why Bradfords No2 and coach cannot instill good defending into their signings, the midfield are not creating and out strikers cannot strike ! This team will end up outside the top 10 (worse than last year) if we don't get fresh coaching and players

Maybe because he's ex-City - also a lot of people are interested in the dealings of Beeston????

Science of rockets.

Yes, please tell us why our defence is so poor, and our attack is lack lustre yet we are still in joint 2nd. Get a grip folks, when was the last time we were anywhere near this spot in the league at xmas? I do think we need some bolstering, but individual mistakes on the pitch are not down to coaching.

I agreed with your post up until you went over the top with your criticism of City. We are creating chances and until recently put the chances away. Admittedly, we still have work to be done at the back, but since Arnison replaced TJ, even the defence looks a little more solid.

Having said all that, I agree entirely that Parker needs to stop reporting on other clubs and stick to City. I don't suppose the YEP will print stories on the dealings at City. Or do they??

To be fair this was in the sports section and not The Bantams section. Now it may be a loose connection to say Leeds Utd are anything to do with sport but even they have to have some column inches somewhere and considering they are a Yorkshire club with a large fan base in Bradford the T&A has to give at least the basic reporting when something as monumental as Simon Who taking charge. Besides how many Leeds fans do you know who will be happy with this appointment, I haven't met one today.

whther it should or should not appear in a Bradford paper is an irrelevancy:the fact is that Grayson was a rookie manager who decided to get experience alongside him in the form of Tony Parkes-- after a slow start teh team started to rise and is now a respectable championship team.

I would expect SCUM to start to progress later this season.

so does the fact that he was a rookie who took on experience tell us anything---?

Yes Tyker it tells us that you should take your head out of your ar$e and spread a little yuletide cheer and bonhomie and join me in wishing one and all a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!!!

Any fans (I say that term loosley!) who live in Bradford and support Beeston Utd (The countrys most failing club!) would buy the so called "yorkshire" evening post not the T&a! So why is this story darkening this sites door Parker? I say "Yorkshire" as there is more to yorkshire than Bl**dy Leeds! Trading standards take note as this is not an accurate description of what the newspapers name represents! It should be called the L**ds evening post! The sports section is only worth using when one runs out of toilet roll!

Couldn't agree more until he gets some experience in we will struggle to achieve any consistency even the mighty fergie when starting in scotland had experience around him.Stuart was a great player but he don't know although i seem to think he is arrogant enough to believe it.Maybe someone at board level should maybe suggest bringing in someone else of experience to help

Santa's coming tonight and all I have asked him for is promotion for City and our nearest and dearest rivals to stay in League 1 for another season. I have been a good boy (despite what some on here believe), so I am optimistic I will get my wish.

Seasons greetings to all (AND I DO MEAN ALL!!). Merry Christmas everyone :)

I don't think arrogant is a term you could ever associate with Stuart. He is a nice guy who will do all he can to make city successful.

Whether nice guys make good managers is another thing. In this case I sincerely hope they do.

This should be in the Leeds section, not the 'Bantams' section. Still, it's provoked the most posts a Leeds feature has ever had on the T&A.
Let them slowely and painfully die on their own pages please.
