Mark Lawn believes giving City fans the Bradford End has boosted the atmosphere on the other three sides of the ground.
The TL Dallas Stand behind the goal is being used by home supporters for the first time in over a decade this season.
And, following City’s opener against Notts County, Lawn is already pleased with the effect.
He said: “I thought the crowd was bouncing off each other. Having them behind both goals got all four sides going and singing.
“It definitely increased the noise level.
“Rochdale are expected to bring between 700 and 1,000 on Saturday so we are hoping for a similar atmosphere.”
City’s opening-day attendance of 14,038 was up on last season’s average of 13,756 despite them just missing out on their season ticket target.
Lawn said: “I was pleased with the gate. On the opening day you always hope to get a few extra so if we get that against Rochdale we’ve done very well.”
