Fastbats have five teams in Division Three of the Bradford League and not surprisingly they feature heavily in the promotion and relegation frame.

The B and C teams are in the top two and the C team inflicted only the second defeat of the season on Fastbats B.

Greg Hill earned the man-of-the-match award for the C team with three wins, while Roman Maska and Terry Miller supplied one each. Hill also joined Maska to take the deciding doubles after losing the first two games.

This 6-4 victory means Fastbats C are 13 points behind the B team but they are nine points clear of third position, now occupied by Unity C following their 6-4 success at Thornbury B.

Steve Winnard took all three for the hosts but Craig Priestley and Steve Whittaker won two each and also the doubles for Unity.

Highdale A secured a crucial 6-4 victory over Dewsbury Sedbergh in Division One as the battle to stay out of the relegation places intensified.

Mike Stead comfortably won three singles for Highdale but Paul McKrieth drew a blank, so it was down to Phil Mann to provide the support with two singles.

This included a 14-12 fifth-game success against Steve Taylor in the final match - and he then joined Stead to take the decisive doubles.
