Golden haul for Sam

City of Bradford sent a large contingent to the City of Salford Spring Open Meet at Broughton Pool to test their racing fitness, and 13-year old Sam O'Donohoe came home with an impressive haul of gold.

His wins came in the 100 metres freestyle, butterfly, backstroke and the 200m individual medley.

Equally impressive was 15-year-old George Mack with victories in the 100m, 800m and 1500m freestyle and silvers in the 100m backstroke and 200m individual medley.

He also finished fourth in the 400m freestyle and fifth in the 100m breaststroke.

Breaststroke specialist David Brown claimed silver in the 100m, fourth in the 200m individual medley and fifth in the 100m backstroke.

Two members justified promotion their recent promotion to the National Potential squad.

Lydia Biddiscombe, 12, won bronze in the 100m backstroke and Josh Zenner was fourth in the 100m butterfly.

Bronzes went to Rebecca Lund in the 13 years' 100m breaststroke and Hannah Midgley in the 200m individual medley.

Twelve year old Lydia Biddiscombe won bronze in the 100m backstroke and Josh Zenner finished fourth in the 100m butterfly, fifth in the 100m backstroke and sixth in the 100m freestyle, 100m breaststroke and 200m individual medley.

Bronze medals went to Rebecca Lund in the 13 years' 100m breaststroke and Hannah Midgley in the 200m individual medley.

Brother and sister Jennifer and Michael Bonson both featured in two finals. Dyon Whitley and Chris Killcok were City's other finalists
